D. Soc. Sc. Pekka Mattila taking lead in the internationalization process
Management Events has begun the internationalization of another of its Finnish service concepts,the tailored events to European markets. Tailored events -concept going by the name of Management Events Studio specializes in tailored business events for demanding target groups. D.Soc.Sc. Pekka Mattila has been appointed to head the internationalization process as of 22nd September, 2008. Pekka Mattila has previously held a director level position at Pension Fennia in Finland. Mattila has over 10 years of experience in both development and leadership roles in the financial sector as well as from B2B marketing.
– Opportunity to be part of exporting Finnish marketing knowledge abroad was an offer I could not resist. Finnish companies are not known in the international service market which made this opportunity also rather unique, explains Pekka Mattila, the new Executive Director for Management Events Studio of his career step.
Management Events Studio, founded in Finland early last year, originates from the tailored events -division part of Management Events invitation only event -operations since late 90’s. Studio follows the same process thinking -model in the tailored events’ -business as Management Events Group does in the invitation only events providing B2B-customers efficient means to gain new business contacts and reach marketing and sales targets. The company is planning to expand the Studio operations to Sweden, Denmark and the Netherlands with all operations in place by the beginning of 2009.
– Especially in unfavorable economic market conditions sales led marketing based on creating contacts is a huge growth opportunity. We look forward to seeing how this concept is received and how we can best service our customers in Sweden, Denmark and Netherlands, says Pekka Mattila.
