Founder Olli Muurainen steps down to make room for new CEO Tomi Hilvo
Mr Olli Muurainen, the founder and CEO of Management Events, has stepped down from the Group operative top management position. Mr Tomi Hilvo, previously a managing director and partner at Engagement Agency Toinen in Helsinki, Finland, has been called as a new CEO and partner to Management Events. Tomi Hilvo starts at Management Events on the 10th December.
The change in the top management supports the company vision and growth targets set for 2010. During Mr Muurainen’s time as the entrepreneur CEO, Management Events developed the strong existing product portfolio and structure it has today. As a result, the company will reach the highest ever turnover (15 million euros from seven countries) and make the best ever profit in 2007.
According to Olli Muurainen, Management Events will not change its strategy. Of his own role Muurainen comments the following:
- I will be involved with product development projects and as the main shareholder, I will also have an active role in the board, says Muurainen.
- Swedish Håkan Gershagen will continue as the chairman of the board, Muurainen adds.
The new CEO, Mr Tomi Hilvo, has known both Muurainen and Management Events for a long time.
- I have cooperated with Management Events both as a partner as well as a customer in many occasions during the past years and have always highly appreciated the strong culture and development of the company, tells Tomi Hilvo.
